Pegasus is evolving from a children’s publishing company into a children’s wellbeing company. Through books, games, activities, digital resources and learning experiences, we aim to help children read, learn, create, play and grow—with a strong commitment to promoting a screen-free childhood.
We are looking for a Head of Marketing who can build Pegasus into a stronger, more recognisable and trusted consumer brand.
The Role
This is an integrated marketing leadership role covering both B2C and B2B marketing.
The person will be responsible for developing the overall marketing strategy for Pegasus and translating it into strong product campaigns, physical-market activations, events, social media content, UGC, PR and brand-building initiatives.
The role requires someone who understands how physical consumer products are discovered, presented, promoted and sold—not someone whose experience is limited to digital marketing or performance advertising.
Key Responsibilities
Brand and Marketing Strategy
- Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy for Pegasus.
- Strengthen Pegasus’ positioning as a children’s wellbeing and screen-free childhood brand.
- Create integrated annual and quarterly marketing plans across products, channels and customer segments.
- Ensure consistency in brand communication across packaging, catalogues, digital platforms, retail, exhibitions and events.
- Build clear marketing strategies for new product launches, existing ranges and priority categories.
- Product and Consumer Marketing
- Develop go-to-market strategies for books, games, activity products and other children’s products.
- Translate product features into compelling consumer benefits and communication.
- Plan campaigns around new launches, seasonal opportunities and key selling periods.
- Work closely with Product, Editorial, Design, Sales and E-commerce teams.
- Improve how Pegasus products are presented across marketplaces, retail stores, the Pegasus website and other customer touchpoints.
Social Media, Content and UGC
- Lead the social media and content strategy for Pegasus.
- Build a structured content calendar covering product discovery, parenting,
children’s wellbeing, learning and screen-free engagement.
- Guide the creation of UGC videos, product demonstrations, unboxing videos, reels, book trailers, expert-led content and campaign assets.
- Ensure that content is engaging, useful, brand-consistent and commercially relevant.
- Develop a dependable network of creators, parents, educators and experts for content collaborations.
- Physical Market Activations and Events
- Plan and execute consumer events, school activations, workshops, exhibitions, book fairs, retail activities and product launches.
- Develop creative on-ground campaigns that encourage children and parents to experience Pegasus products.
- Work with the sales team on point-of-sale materials, retail visibility, displays and channel-specific promotions.
- Measure the commercial and brand impact of events and activations.
B2B Marketing
- Support Pegasus’ distribution, modern trade, institutional, school, export and custom-publishing businesses.
- Develop catalogues, presentations, sales-support material, launch kits and trade communication.
- Work with sales teams to generate leads, strengthen customer engagement and improve product adoption.
- Plan communication for exhibitions, trade fairs, distributor meets and industry events.
- PR and Thought Leadership
- Build and manage Pegasus’ PR strategy across business, parenting, education and publishing media.
- Identify stories, partnerships and opportunities that improve the visibility and credibility of the brand.
- Develop thought-leadership themes and content for the CEO, including LinkedIn posts, articles, interviews, speaking opportunities and media interactions.
- Position the company’s leadership around children’s wellbeing, screen-free childhood, publishing innovation and entrepreneurship.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary marketing team across content, design, social media, video, events and brand communication.
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams, freelancers, agencies, creators and external partners.
- Establish clear priorities, timelines, ownership and review mechanisms.
- Build a marketing culture that combines creativity with discipline, speed and measurable outcomes.
- Manage budgets and evaluate campaigns against defined business and brand objectives.
What We Are Looking For
Significant marketing experience in a leadership or senior managerial role.
Robust experience with physical consumer products such as books, toys, games, stationery, lifestyle products, FMCG, retail or related categories.
Demonstrated ability to manage both B2C and B2B marketing.
Practical experience in brand strategy, product launches, content, social media, UGC, events, PR and retail marketing.
Experience leading creative and cross-functional teams.
Strong communication, storytelling and presentation skills.
Commercial understanding and the ability to connect marketing activity with sales, customer acquisition and brand growth.
Comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on execution.
Experience in children’s products, publishing, education, toys or parenting categories would be an advantage.
This Role May Not Be Right for You If
Your experience is limited primarily to paid advertising or performance marketing.
You prefer managing agencies without being closely involved in execution.
You see social-media activity as the complete marketing strategy.
You are uncomfortable working across multiple product categories, customer segments and sales channels.
Why Join Pegasus?
- You will have the opportunity to shape the next stage of a well-established children’s brand and build a larger platform around children’s learning and wellbeing. This role offers genuine ownership of the brand, access to a diverse product portfolio and the opportunity to create marketing that reaches parents, children, educators, retailers and business partners.
