Job Title: CPU / Motherboard Repair Engineer (Chip Level)

Job Highlights

- - Chip-level diagnosis and repair of desktop, laptop, and server motherboards.

Job Summary We are looking for a skilled CPU / Motherboard Repair Engineer (Chip Level) with practical experience in motherboard fault finding, testing, and component-level repair. The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing motherboard-related issues, performing SMD soldering and component replacement, BIOS flashing, and conducting functional testing to ensure repaired products meet defined quality standards and TAT requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- - Diagnose and repair faulty desktop, laptop, and server motherboards at the chip/component level.
- Perform fault finding for dead, no-display, power failure, short-circuit, boot, charging, and other motherboard-related issues.
- Troubleshoot CPU sockets, RAM slots, VRM circuits, chipsets, BIOS ICs, power circuits, and other motherboard components.
- Perform SMD soldering, component replacement, and rework as required.
- Carry out BIOS flashing and firmware-related troubleshooting.
- Use multimeters, soldering equipment,



test benches, and other diagnostic tools for fault identification and repair.
- Perform BGA rework and reballing wherever required and as per technical capability.
- Test repaired motherboards to verify complete functionality before dispatch.
- Conduct final quality checks to ensure repaired products meet required standards.
- Maintain accurate repair reports, testing records, and service documentation.
- Identify recurring hardware faults and support corrective actions to reduce repeat repairs.
- Follow ESD safety standards, repair procedures, and company SOPs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair workstation.
- Coordinate with the Service Coordinator and Team Leader to achieve daily repair targets and TAT commitments.
- Continuously develop technical knowledge of motherboard technologies and repair methodologies.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- - ITI or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- 1–4 years of practical experience in motherboard repair, preferably chip-level repair.
- Hands-on experience in motherboard fault diagnosis and component-level troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of SMD components and soldering techniques.




- Knowledge of BIOS flashing and basic component replacement.
- Experience with multimeter and other electronic diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of circuit analysis and schematic reading will be an advantage.
- Basic computer hardware knowledge.
- Ability to diagnose faults accurately and complete repairs within defined TAT.
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with the service team.

- Reduction in repeat repairs and customer complaints.
