Job Summary
We are looking for a Garment Merchandiser who will be responsible for managing and coordinating the complete garment order cycle — from product development and sampling to production follow-up and final dispatch.
The candidate will act as a key link between buyers, design, sourcing, production, quality, stores, vendors, and management, ensuring that orders are executed as per the required quality, cost, specifications, and delivery timelines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Order & Buyer Management
- Coordinate with buyers regarding new inquiries, orders, specifications, and requirements.
- Understand buyer requirements, tech packs, measurements, designs, BOMs, and specifications.
- Maintain regular communication with buyers and provide timely order updates.
- Handle buyer comments, approvals, modifications, and follow-ups.
2. Product Development & Sampling
- Coordinate development of new garment styles and samples.
- Follow up on proto, fit, size-set, PP and other required samples.
- Ensure samples are developed according to buyer specifications and approved timelines.
- Coordinate with the design and production teams for corrections and modifications.
3. Costing & Pricing
- Prepare accurate garment costing based on fabric, trims, accessories, stitching, processing, packing, and other applicable costs.
- Calculate fabric consumption and monitor costing against target prices.
- Coordinate with suppliers/vendors for competitive rates.
- Ensure orders are commercially viable and meet company margin requirements.
4. Fabric, Trims & Accessories
- Coordinate sourcing and availability of fabrics, trims, buttons, zippers, labels, threads, packaging materials, etc.
- Follow up on material approvals and deliveries.
- Ensure all required materials are available before production starts.
- Coordinate lab dips, fabric approvals, print/embroidery approvals, and other required developments.
5. Production Follow-Up
- Prepare and maintain Time & Action (T&A;) calendars for orders.
- Coordinate closely with production, cutting, stitching, finishing, and packing teams.
- Monitor production progress and ensure orders remain on schedule.
- Identify production delays or bottlenecks and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with outside job workers/vendors wherever applicable.
6. Quality Coordination
- Ensure garments are produced according to approved samples, specifications, measurements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality team regarding inspection and quality issues.
- Follow up on corrective actions and ensure buyer requirements are maintained throughout production.
7. Dispatch & Shipment
- Monitor finishing, packing, and dispatch readiness.
- Coordinate with the dispatch/logistics team to ensure timely shipment.
- Ensure order quantities, packing requirements, labels, and documentation are correct before dispatch.
- Track shipment status and communicate updates to management/buyers.
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain order-wise records, costing sheets, T&A; calendars, sample status, approvals,
and production updates.
- Prepare regular order status reports for management.
- Maintain proper documentation for each style/order.
- Monitor pending approvals, materials, production, and dispatch schedules.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing and merchandising processes.
- Good understanding of fabrics, trims, garment construction, and production processes.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Good negotiation and vendor-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple orders simultaneously.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, email, and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work under deadlines and handle pressure.
- Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.
- Good understanding of costing, fabric consumption, BOM, and production planning.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's/Diploma in Fashion, Textile, Apparel, Garment Technology, Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in garment merchandising/apparel manufacturing preferred.
- Candidates with experience in textile/garment manufacturing, buying houses, or export merchandising will be preferred.

Pay: Up to ₹50,000.00 per month
