Senior Software Engineer — Java Full Stack, Cloud & AI

Role summary

Hands-on engineer who can own features end to end on a Java + React multi-tenant SaaS platform, run its AWS infrastructure, and lead the build-out of AI capabilities on self-hosted LLMs.

Responsibilities

- Design, build and maintain backend services in Java 17 / Spring Boot (Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Security with JWT, REST APIs).
- Build and maintain front-end features in React + TypeScript (hooks, Redux Toolkit / RTK Query, React Query, Vite).
- Design and evolve MySQL schemas; write and roll out Flyway migrations in a schema-per-tenant multi-tenant setup.
- Build and harden data-ingestion pipelines: Excel/CSV bulk uploads (Apache POI or similar), SFTP file exchange, REST integrations with third-party ERPs; row-level validation, rejection reporting, idempotent re-runs.
- Own AWS infrastructure: EC2 / containers, RDS (MySQL), S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, backups, cost control.
- Own CI/CD pipelines, environment configuration (dev / UAT / prod), secrets management and deployments, including migration rollout across tenant schemas.
- Participate in on-call; drive root-cause fixes for production incidents.
- Stand up and operate self-hosted LLM inference (vLLM / Ollama / TGI) on on-prem or AWS GPU instances, covering throughput, cost, access control and data residency.
- Build AI features on top of the platform: document extraction from PDFs and unstructured files, retrieval-augmented (RAG) assistants over application data, LLM-assisted column mapping and summarisation.
- Set up evaluation, prompt versioning and guardrails for AI output; prototype in Python and integrate into the Java/React product.
- Review pull requests, write short design notes,



and keep the codebase consistent.

Skills required
- 5-8 years building production web applications in Java + Spring Boot (Spring Data JPA / Hibernate, Spring Security, REST).
- Solid React with TypeScript; state management (Redux Toolkit / RTK Query or equivalent).
- Strong MySQL: schema design, indexing, query tuning, migrations (Flyway or Liquibase).
- Hands-on AWS: EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC basics, CloudWatch; Docker; one CI/CD tool (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- Working Python and real exposure to LLM application development: hosting and calling models, prompt design, RAG with a vector store, output evaluation.
- Ability to navigate a large existing codebase and change it safely.
- Clear written communication.

Good-to-have skills
- Multi-tenant architectures (schema-per-tenant, tenant routing, tenant-scoped migrations).
- Self-hosting open-weight models (Llama, Mistral, Qwen) with vLLM / Ollama / TGI; GPU sizing and quantisation.
- Document AI: OCR and layout-aware extraction from PDFs and scanned documents.
- ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle, Tally), SFTP-based exchange, Microsoft Graph / Azure AD.
- Redis, message queues, scheduled and batch processing.
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform / CloudFormation); Linux administration.
- LangChain / LlamaIndex; vector databases (pgvector, Qdrant, Milvus, OpenSearch).
