About the Company

Our client is a well-established and growing international freight forwarding business with operations across global markets. The company provides end-to-end logistics solutions across ocean, air and road freight, working closely with customers, overseas agents, carriers and logistics partners.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Ocean Freight Operations Executive to join their India office and become an important part of the international operations team.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing ocean import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, accurately and in line with customer requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with UK-based colleagues, overseas agents, shipping lines, customs teams, transport providers and customers to ensure smooth international freight operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage FCL & LCL ocean import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Coordinate with shipping lines, overseas agents, customers, hauliers and other logistics partners
- Communicate regularly with international offices, particularly the UK operations team
- Prepare and manage shipping and freight documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, arrival notices and delivery documentation
- Coordinate with customs brokers and relevant teams to ensure smooth customs clearance
- Arrange and coordinate final-mile delivery and other transport requirements
- Monitor shipment schedules and proactively identify and resolve delays, issues or operational challenges
- Update internal systems and maintain accurate shipment records
- Liaise with customers and provide timely updates throughout the shipment lifecycle
- Obtain and monitor freight and local charges where required




- Ensure shipments are handled in accordance with company procedures and applicable import/export regulations
- Work collaboratively with the wider international operations team to deliver a high level of customer service
- Support air and road freight operations when required

Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in ocean freight forwarding operations – essential
- Robust practical knowledge of FCL and LCL import/export operations
- Good understanding of international shipping processes and documentation
- Experience dealing with shipping lines, overseas agents, customs brokers and transport providers
- Knowledge of customs clearance and import/export procedures
- Strong understanding of Incoterms and international freight documentation
- Experience working with international customers or overseas offices is highly desirable
- Exposure to air or road freight is an advantage
- Strong communication skills, particularly written and spoken English
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and resolving operational issues
- Ability to work effectively as part of an international, cross-border operations team
- Good computer skills and experience using freight forwarding/logistics systems

Pay: Up to ₹1,851,104.00 per year
