THE ROLE

We're hiring a Financial Analyst with 1–2 years of experience to support our fractional CFO engagements. This role suits someone with a strong accounting and analysis foundation who wants exposure to multiple clients, industries, and business models.

You'll work closely with SmartFin's leadership and client teams to support financial reporting, MIS, analysis, and process improvement; helping clients gain better visibility and control over their finances.

You'll play a key role supporting financial operations and reporting across multiple client engagements: hands-on accounting support, MIS preparation, analysis, and coordination with client teams, ensuring accuracy, discipline, and actionable insight. The ideal candidate has experience with Zoho Books / Tally, is comfortable working with imperfect data, and is eager to learn how finance supports real business decisions.

Core Finance & Accounting Capability

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field, with 2–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or consulting.
- CA Intermediate, CMA-qualified, or ACCA candidates are also eligible.
- Strong accounting fundamentals with hands-on experience in Zoho Books and/or Tally, along with working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian accounting standards.

- Enjoys exposure to multiple clients, industries, and business models rather than a single in-house context.
- Adapts quickly to different systems (Zoho Books, Tally, or similar) and client ways of working.

Practical Execution

- High accuracy and discipline: month-end close, reconciliations, and data validation done right the first time.
- Hands-on with MIS preparation, budgeting support, cash flow tracking, and audit/compliance documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Financial Reporting & MIS

- Prepare and review monthly MIS, financial statements, and management reports for clients.
- Analyze revenue, costs, margins, and trends to highlight key business insights.
- Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and data validation.
- Assist in presenting clear, decision-oriented financial insights to internal teams and clients.

2.Budgeting & Forecasting Support

- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts for clients.
- Track actual performance against budgets and identify variances.
- Support scenario analysis and basic financial models as required.

3.Accounting & Controls

- Ensure accuracy of the general ledger and supporting schedules.
- Help implement and maintain basic financial controls and documentation.

4.Cash Flow & Working Capital Analysis

- Track receivables, payables,



and cash positions for clients.
- Support cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and payment tracking.

5.Compliance & Audit Support

- Support GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance activities.
- Coordinate with client accountants, auditors, and consultants as needed.
- Help prepare schedules and documentation for audits and filings.

6.Systems & Process Improvement

- Work with Zoho Books, Tally, or similar accounting systems across clients.
- Assist in improving templates, MIS formats, and reporting processes.
- Support automation and process standardisation initiatives within SmartFin.

7.Client & Internal Collaboration

- Work closely with SmartFin's senior team and client stakeholders.
- Coordinate with operations, sales, and external vendors to ensure financial data accuracy.
- Build an understanding of different business models and operating structures.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
- CA Intermediate, CMA-qualified, or ACCA candidates are also eligible.

Experience

- 1–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or consulting roles.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications and a strong foundation in accounting and finance are also encouraged to apply.

Accounting Skills

- Strong fundamentals, with hands-on experience in Zoho Books and/or Tally.

Compliance Knowledge

- Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian accounting standards.

Analytical Skills

- Ability to analyze numbers and draw meaningful insights.
