About the Role
Microlit is looking for a hands-on Firmware Engineer to join its R&D; Department in Lucknow. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of professional embedded-systems experience and a proven record of developing 23 production-grade,
structured firmware projects. This role is for an engineer who can take firmware from architecture and low-level drivers through debugging, validation and production deployment.
The candidate must be strong in C/C++, bare-metal programming, STM32 and ESP32, with a solid understanding of memory management, RTOS/OS concepts and Linux. Exposure to robotics calculations and computer vision is also important for our
R&D; work.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain reliable, modular and production-grade embedded firmware.
Develop low-level drivers and application firmware for STM32 and ESP32 platforms.
¢ Write and debug bare-metal firmware and work directly with MCU registers and peripherals.
¢ Develop RTOS-based applications and implement safe task, interrupt and inter-task communication models.
¢ Integrate sensors, actuators, communication interfaces and other hardware into embedded products.
¢ Debug firmware using JTAG/SWD, ST-LINK/J-Link, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other tools.
¢ Analyze and optimize CPU, RAM and Flash usage; identify memory corruption, stack/heap and timing issues.
¢ Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, software and R&D; teams to deliver complete product solutions.
¢ Implement diagnostics, fault handling, watchdogs, configuration management and firmware update mechanisms.
¢ Document architecture, interfaces, design decisions, test procedures and production releases.
What Makes This Role Different
We are looking for a product-building engineer not someone limited to Arduino-level prototypes or academic projects. You should be able to explain the architecture, trade-offs,
difficult bugs and production lessons behind firmware you have actually built.

registers, timers, DMA and peripheral drivers.
¢ Forward/inverse kinematics, position and motion calculations.
¢ Production-oriented modular architecture, state machines and error handling.
¢ Practical understanding of motors, encoders, IMUs and actuators.
3. STM32 & ESP32 Mandatory ¢ Hands-on STM32 experience: HAL/LL, register-level programming, GPIO, ADC, PWM, UART, SPI, I2C,
CAN, USB/Ethernet.
4. Computer Vision ¢ OpenCV, image processing, camera calibration and image/real-world coordinate relationships.
¢ Object detection/tracking, perspective transformation and basic vision mathematics.
¢ ESP32 with ESP-IDF and/or professional embedded framework; FreeRTOS, Wi-Fi/BLE and OTA.
¢ YOLO, TensorFlow Lite or ONNX experience is an advantage.
¢ JTAG/SWD, ST-LINK/J-Link and low-level debugging.
5. Memory Management ¢ Flash, SRAM, ROM, stack, heap, static/dynamic memory
6. Communication Protocols ¢ UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS485 and Modbus.
and fragmentation.
¢ TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth/BLE are advantageous.
¢ Memory alignment, linker scripts and .text/.data/.bss sections.
¢ Memory corruption, leaks, stack overflow and DMA-safe buffer handling.
7. Development & Quality ¢ Git/GitHub/GitLab, code reviews and structured branching.
¢ Oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter and serial analysis.
8. OS / RTOS / Linux ¢ FreeRTOS or equivalent: tasks, scheduling, priorities,
mutexes, semaphores, queues and race conditions.
¢ Unit/integration testing, static analysis, coding standards and production documentation.
