About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic cable access engineering team. This role involves close collaboration with our US-based systems architects, software, and hardware teams to develop and maintain firmware for next-generation Full Duplex (FDX) Cable Amplifiers and smart RF nodes. In this specialized position, you will focus on designing embedded Linux-based firmware that operates at the intersection of broadband SoC platforms, RF control loops, and modern telemetry protocols.

Your expertise will help enhance the performance and reliability of our cable access solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity for users worldwide.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in embedded software or firmware development using modern C and C++ is preferred. Candidates should have a solid understanding of RF fundamentals,



dynamic signal management, and control loops such as AGC within RF transmission paths, particularly in DOCSIS or cable TV plants.

Experience working with Broadcom broadband SoCs and SDKs at the register and hardware abstraction levels is essential. Deep knowledge of Embedded Linux driver development, Linux networking internals, and peripheral bus protocols like I2C, SPI, and UART is required. Practical experience with telemetry and serialization protocols such as gNMI, Protobuf, JSON, and MQTT for device configuration and streaming telemetry is highly desirable.

Additionally, proven ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams, especially US-based engineering groups, along with excellent technical communication skills in English, is crucial.

Responsibilities

Develop low-level firmware for Broadcom broadband SoCs, focusing on initializing, configuring, and monitoring digital and analog RF hardware components.

Implement embedded control algorithms for RF signal management, including Automatic Gain Control (AGC), Automatic Level Control (ALC), tilt adjustments, and dynamic power management to optimize RF amplification stages.

Control and interface with on-board peripherals, RF attenuators, equalizers, power amplifiers, and environmental sensors via I2C, SPI, and GPIO protocols.

Design, develop, and maintain custom Linux kernel drivers, character devices,



and user-space daemons that interact directly with hardware registers and memory-mapped I/O.

Architect and implement modern telemetry solutions utilizing gNMI, Protobuf, JSON, and MQTT to facilitate real-time health monitoring and RF performance metrics collection.

Participate actively in joint design reviews, code reviews, and architectural planning sessions with US-based firmware, RF hardware, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.

Perform hardware bring-up on custom Broadcom evaluation boards and production amplifier hardware, utilizing oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and RF spectrum analyzers to validate and troubleshoot hardware functionality.
