Job Summary The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for carrying out electrical, mechanical, fabrication, welding, drilling, and general maintenance activities at the FMCG manufacturing facility. The role involves ensuring the smooth and secure operation of machinery, electrical systems, production equipment, and plant utilities while minimizing equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical / LT Work

- Carry out LT electrical work, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical panels, cables, switches, motors, and other equipment.
- Perform electrical connections, wiring, cable laying, termination, and routine inspection.
- Identify and rectify electrical faults in production and utility equipment.
- Assist in preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems.
- Ensure all electrical work is carried out safely and as per applicable standards.

2. Machine Maintenance

- Perform routine preventive and breakdown maintenance of production and packaging machinery.
- Inspect machines regularly and identify potential mechanical or electrical issues.
- Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and restore equipment to normal operating condition.
- Replace or repair worn-out components, bearings, belts, chains, motors, sensors, and other machine parts.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, repairs, and spare parts used.

3. Welding & Fabrication

- Perform arc/MIG welding and basic fabrication work as required.
- Repair and fabricate machine frames, supports, brackets, platforms, guards, and other plant structures.
- Carry out cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting work.
- Ensure proper alignment and finishing of fabricated components.

4. Drilling & Mechanical Work





- Operate drilling machines and hand tools safely for maintenance and fabrication activities.
- Perform fitting, assembly, dismantling, and alignment of mechanical components.
- Assist in installation and modification of machinery and equipment.
- Carry out lubrication and routine inspection of mechanical equipment.

5. Preventive Maintenance

- Follow the preventive maintenance schedule for machinery and plant equipment.
- Conduct regular inspection of equipment to identify abnormal noise, vibration, heating, leakage, or other issues.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely maintenance without unnecessary disruption to operations.

6. Safety & Compliance

- Follow all plant safety procedures and electrical safety protocols.
- Use appropriate PPE and safety equipment while performing electrical, welding, drilling, and maintenance work.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in the maintenance area.
- Ensure machines and tools are operated safely and responsibly.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, electrical hazards, or major equipment issues to the supervisor.

Required Skills
- Knowledge of LT electrical systems and industrial wiring.
- Hands-on experience in machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Welding, fabrication, drilling, cutting, and basic fitting skills.
- Ability to read basic electrical diagrams and understand machine layouts.
- Knowledge of motors, electrical panels, switches, sensors, bearings, belts, chains, and other industrial components.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as with the maintenance team.

Qualification & Experience
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Fitter, or related technical trade preferred.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in an FMCG, food processing, manufacturing, or industrial plant preferred.
- Candidates with strong hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance may also be considered.
