Key Responsibilities:-

- Operate and monitor the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) during charging, melting, refining and tapping operations.

- Monitor and control furnace parameters such as power input, electrode movement, arc stability, oxygen/carbon injection and furnace temperature.

- Ensure proper scrap/DRI/HBI charging sequence as per required steel grade and heat plan.

- Monitor and maintain appropriate slag formation and slag practice during melting.

- Check and maintain required temperature and chemical composition of molten steel through sampling and process adjustments.

- Coordinate with Ladle Furnace (LF), Continuous Casting (CCM), Raw Material and Quality teams for smooth heat-to-heat operation.

- Ensure proper furnace start-up, shutdown, tapping and charging procedures.

- Monitor electrode consumption, refractory condition,



cooling-water systems and other critical furnace parameters.

- Identify abnormal furnace conditions, alarms and process deviations and take corrective action as per SOP.

- Coordinate with Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance teams for breakdowns and equipment-related issues.

- Maintain production records, heat logs, temperature readings, material consumption and other operational reports.

- Ensure compliance with SOPs, PPE requirements, safety standards and environmental procedures.

- Maintain positive housekeeping around the furnace and SMS area.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to productivity, power consumption, electrode consumption, yield and heat time.
