Our client is an Australian company, a leader in their industry, seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join their team remotely from India.

Fixed 5-day working week (Monday to Friday), day shift, with remote opportunity

THE ROLE:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for custom-built vehicles and mobile equipment, ensuring solutions are practical, reliable, and compliant with Australian standards. This position involves working closely with engineering and workshop teams to deliver electrical designs, documentation, installation, testing, and commissioning from concept through to completion.

Key responsibilities:

- Design and develop DC vehicle electrical systems, including 12V, 24V, and 240V systems, for custom truck bodies, emergency service vehicles, marine craft, and mobile plant equipment.
- Prepare electrical designs, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, and technical drawings in accordance with Australian standards and client specifications.
- Conduct load analysis, circuit sizing, cable selection, and protection coordination for heavy-duty vehicle electrical installations.
- Specify and select electrical components, including batteries, isolators, alternators, inverters, DC-DC converters, lighting systems, communication equipment, and auxiliary equipment.
- Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support production planning and procurement.
- Oversee and support the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems during the fabrication process.
- Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant Australian standards and regulations, including AS/NZS 3000 and relevant ADR requirements.
- Collaborate with project engineers, fabricators, and design teams to integrate electrical systems into vehicle builds.




- Provide technical input into quotations, tender submissions, and project feasibility assessments.
- Review and approve electrical documentation and installation plans prior to execution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues relating to vehicle electrical performance, faults, and commissioning failures.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies regarding electrical system design, approvals, and compliance.
- Maintain and improve engineering documentation standards, wiring templates, and reusable design libraries.
- Support continuous improvement of electrical engineering processes, standards, and documentation.
- Assist with additional electrical engineering, design, and technical tasks as required.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with DC vehicle electrical systems, including 12V, 24V, or 240V mobile applications for trucks, heavy vehicles, emergency service vehicles, or similar equipment.
- Demonstrated experience with truck body electrical fit-outs, vehicle wiring, or mobile plant and equipment electrical installations.
- Proficient in preparing wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings in accordance with Australian standards, including AS/NZS 3000 and relevant ADR requirements.
- Strong understanding of DC circuit protection, cable sizing, load analysis, and electrical component selection for demanding operating environments.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing or workshop environment alongside engineers, fabricators, and tradespeople.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and communicate technical information clearly for both engineering and trade audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing team in a remote working environment, with strong organisational and time management skills.

Desirable/Advantageous

- Experience with AC electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase applications, particularly for workshop power systems,



auxiliary equipment, and inverter/charger integration.
- Experience with SolidWorks for electrical design integration and component placement documentation.
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) registration or working towards registration.
- Familiarity with emergency services, defence, or marine electrical standards and procurement requirements.
- Experience with grid-connected or off-grid power systems, including solar, battery, and hybrid systems, particularly in mobile or remote applications.
- Experience with AS/NZS 5033 or battery energy storage systems (BESS) in a vehicle or mobile environment.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, custom fabrication, automotive, heavy vehicle, or mobile equipment engineering environments.
