Role Purpose The Director — Students’ Welfare (DSW) provides strategic leadership for the university’s student support, wellbeing, and engagement ecosystem. The role ensures that institutional systems governing student grievance redressal, discipline, counselling, and co-curricular engagement operate with fairness, efficiency, and accountability.

The Director plays a central role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and student-centred campus environment, strengthening student trust while contributing to improved student satisfaction, engagement, and campus experience outcomes.

The role provides functional oversight for teams responsible for:

- Student grievance redressal
- Student counselling and wellbeing services
- Discipline administration
- Student clubs and societies governance
- Student engagement programmes

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Welfare & Wellbeing Leadership Provide strategic oversight of institutional mechanisms supporting student wellbeing, counselling services, and welfare programmes, ensuring accessible and responsive support systems.

2. Grievance Redressal & Student Trust Strengthen the university’s student grievance management framework, ensuring complaints are addressed with transparency, timeliness, and procedural fairness.

3. Discipline Governance Administer the university’s student conduct and discipline framework, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and maintaining a fair and respectful campus workplace.

Student Engagement Ecosystem Lead the development and oversight of student clubs, societies, and leadership platforms that promote extracurricular, leadership development, and community participation.

5. Institutional Collaboration & Policy Development Work collaboratively with university leadership and academic units to design and implement policies that enhance student welfare, campus life, and institutional culture.

Leadership Expectations The Director Students’ Welfare must demonstrate:

- Strategic leadership in student affairs and campus governance
- Integrity, fairness, and strong ethical standards
- Effective crisis management and decision-making capability
- Ability to build trust with students, faculty, parents, and administrators
- Data-driven management of student welfare systems

Educational Qualification

- Master’s Degree with minimum 65% marks from a recognized university.
- Ph.D. preferred in Management, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 18 years of experience in higher education administration, student affairs, or student services.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as:

Dean Students’ Welfare

Director Student Affairs

Associate Dean Students’ Welfare

Equivalent administrative leadership role in a recognized university.

Demonstrated experience in student welfare governance, grievance systems, counselling services, discipline administration, and student engagement programmes is essential.
