Position: Electrical Design Engineer - Solar/Renewable Energy Location: Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Jammu

Experience: 4-7 years in solar Design /EPC / renewable energy

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Solar Electrical Design Engineer to design, develop, and optimize solar power systems for rooftop and ground-mounted projects. The candidate will be responsible for complete electrical design, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and delivering effective and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Engineering

- Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and electrical layouts
- Design DC & AC systems for solar PV projects
- Perform string sizing and inverter selection
- Design earthing and lightning protection systems

1. Technical Calculations

- Cable sizing and voltage drop calculations

- Transformer and inverter sizing
- Load analysis and system capacity planning
- Short circuit and protection coordination (for large projects)

1. Software & Tools

- Use AutoCAD for drawings
- Perform system simulations using PVsyst / Helioscope




- Use MS Excel for design calculations and BOQ

1. Project Coordination

- Coordinate with project execution and procurement teams
- Support site engineers during installation and commissioning
- Review vendor drawings and technical documents

1. Documentation

- Prepare:

o Detailed engineering drawings o BOQ (Bill of Quantity) o Cable schedules o Technical specifications

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of solar PV system design
- Understanding of electrical systems (LT/HT)

- Familiarity with Indian standards

o MNRE o Central Electricity Authority o Bureau of Indian Standards
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities

Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)
- Certification in solar design (preferred)

Technical Skills:
- AutoCAD - mandatory

- PVsyst / Helioscope

- MS Excel (advanced)
- Knowledge of ETAP (optional for large projects)
