Festivals From India is hiring for a leading Asian Cultural Centre is hiring for a Deputy Director who will play a key leadership role in managing the centre’s programming, operations, and stakeholder relationships. This individual will bring empathy for the arts, a creative and strategic mindset, and the ability to oversee both administrative and programmatic functions along with a solid business acumen. The role involves managing budgets, leading teams, supporting partnerships, and shaping cultural programming that aligns with the Centre’s mission.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Postgraduate degree in Arts Management, Communications, Cultural Studies, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in cultural management, programming, or operations (ideally within the arts, non-profit, or international collaboration sectors).
- Prior experience managing partnerships with embassies, corporates, and cultural organisations.
- Proven track record of strategy and brand building, fund raising and stakeholder management.
- Experience in audience engagement and outreach programming.
- Familiarity with long-term strategic planning in arts institutions.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Director in executing the Centre’s strategic, cultural,
and organisational objectives.
- Lead and manage a team of ~15 staff, interns, and volunteers, while overseeing HR, finance, facilities, and operational coordination.
- Conceptualise and curate a diverse annual programme of 40–45 projects across performing arts, heritage, education, and cultural initiatives.
- Build relationships with artists, festivals, cultural institutions, and partners across India and Korea to identify collaborations, touring opportunities, and new programmes.
- Oversee audience development, educational outreach, and initiatives that strengthen the Centre’s reach and engagement.
- Manage operational budgets, P&L;, project finances, and day-to-day operations across the Centre’s café, craft shop, and studio spaces.
- Develop and steward relationships with donors, CSR partners, corporate members, embassies, cultural institutions, and funding bodies, while expanding the Centre’s membership and fundraising opportunities.
- Represent the Centre externally and collaborate with communications teams to strengthen visibility, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and public-facing communications.
