Job Summary

As the Data Platform & Production Support Engineer, you will oversee, optimize, and support our comprehensive enterprise data ecosystem, which includes Tableau Online, Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Altimate AI, AWS EC2, OKTA, and Wisdom AI. This hybrid role combines system administration, identity and access management (IAM), AI-enhanced workflow optimization, data pipeline oversight, and advanced tier-2/3 support across business applications to guarantee the security, performance, and reliability of our data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Administration & Security Management

Manage user provisioning, site administration, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) across core data platforms, including Tableau Online, Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Altimate AI, AWS EC2, Revifi, Obsidian, and Wisdom AI.

Administer OKTA groups, application tiles, API credentials, and execute routine OAuth token rotations across all supported tools, including non-SCIM applications like Wisdom AI.

Lead quarterly User Access Reviews (UAR) to ensure security compliance across Snowflake, Tableau Online, Fivetran, dbt, Wisdom AI, and related enterprise apps.

Implement robust security measures, including managing service accounts, IP whitelisting, and formulating cross-tool network policies.

Process and manage access exception requests according to established approval workflows.

Tableau Online & BI Production Support

Monitor Tableau Online environment health and site performance, tracking dashboard load times, extract statuses, and user engagement via built-in administrative views.

Ensure the successful execution of scheduled data extracts and Tableau-to-Snowflake flow refreshes, quickly addressing any failures to prevent business downtime.

Facilitate the deployment and publication of optimized dashboards post-Change Advisory Board (CAB) approval.

Act as the primary escalation point for users, troubleshooting visualization errors, data connectivity issues, and assisting with custom query executions.

Serve as the main administrator for the Tableau Online environment,



managing user groups, licenses, and permissions.

Data Engineering, Pipeline & AI Automation (Fivetran, dbt, Altimate AI, EC2)

Fivetran: Conduct daily health checks on connectors, provision new integrations, refresh expired tokens, validate data syncs, and partner with Fivetran support for advanced troubleshooting.

dbt & Altimate AI: Track dbt job execution and speed. Leverage Altimate AI (dbt Power User / Altimate Code) to automate model documentation, enforce testing, track column-level lineage, and perform blast radius impact analysis before code deployments.

AWS EC2: Maintain and support background engineering scripts and cron jobs on EC2 instances. Handle user/role administration, rotate credentials, and troubleshoot process failures.

Perform comprehensive, end-to-end pipeline validations from raw data ingestion to the final reporting layers.

Snowflake Administration & Cost Optimization

Monitor virtual warehouse compute performance, storage utilization, and query runtimes.Utilize Altimate AI FinOps features alongside Snowflake s auto-suspend and scaling policies to pinpoint resource-heavy queries, right-size compute instances, and drive cost efficiencies.

Audit automated data pipelines from external sources to quickly identify and resolve load failures or data anomalies.

Execute database cloning from production environments as needed, while maintaining strict network policies and IP allowlists for service accounts.

Application & Tool Support (Syndigo/Riversand, Wisdom AI, Revifi)

Wisdom AI: Provide ongoing administration and technical support, managing non-SCIM manual user onboarding, RBAC, JIRA ticket workflows, and OKTA tile configurations upon manager approvals.

Syndigo / Riversand: Manage the user lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding) via JIRA, ensuring proper business approvals. Coordinate Keep The Lights On (KTLO) updates-such as data fixes and picklist changes-and standard rule changes through sandbox environments and CAB approvals.

Revifi:



Partner with Revifi support to resolve issues related to platform spend, data observability, and governance.

Operations, Incident Management & Process Lifecycle

Actively triage and resolve support tickets within the JIRA and Salesforce data queues.

Drive database lifecycle management, including the safe decommissioning of legacy databases (incorporating strict communication cadences: two-week notices, Slack reminders, and 24-hour final warnings).

Refresh CIO dashboard metrics and ensure accurate data communications to leadership.

Spearhead Proofs of Concept (POCs) for evaluating new platforms, connectors, and AI tools-including Wisdom AI enhancements and integrations-collaborating across teams for seamless implementation.

Author and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), system configurations, and user documentation.

Key Qualifications & Technical Skills

Platform Expertise: Proven experience administering SaaS and cloud environments, particularly Tableau Online, Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Altimate AI, AWS EC2, and specialized application platforms like Wisdom AI.

IAM & Security: Deep knowledge of OKTA, RBAC methodologies, OAuth token management, non-SCIM user provisioning, IP allowlisting, and executing UAR compliance audits.

AI & Data Tooling: Familiarity with Altimate AI capabilities (dbt Power User, Altimate Code CLI) and AI-assisted data tools (e.g., Wisdom AI) for user support, documentation, and query execution.

Scripting & Querying: Advanced SQL proficiency for system troubleshooting and query optimization; capable of managing automated bash/Python scripts within Linux/EC2 environments.

Data Observability: Strong grasp of up-to-date ELT/ETL pipelines, data synchronization, and data quality platforms (e.g., Revifi).

Agile & ITSM Processes: Skilled in navigating JIRA, Salesforce ticketing, Git version control, and Change Advisory Board (CAB) deployment standards.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration, technical documentation, and proactive system-alert messaging.
