Role and Responsibilities

- Proactive Monitoring: Observe networks and systems utilising SIEM tools to detect potential abnormalities or breaches in real time.

- Vulnerability Management: Conduct routine risk assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability scans.

- Incident Response: Lead or assist in investigating active cyberattacks, containing the threat, and conducting root cause analysis.

- Policy & Compliance: Develop and maintain security policies, and ensure organisational adherence to data protection standards and regulations.

- User Training: Educate internal employees on phishing, password hygiene, and other general security best practices.

- Technical Knowledge: Solid foundation in operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking protocols, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure).





- Security Tools: Familiarity with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint protection platforms.

- Soft Skills: Critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to articulate technical threats to non-technical stakeholders.

- Education & Certifications: A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is typically preferred, alongside industry certifications like CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH.
