The Critical Care Specialist will be responsible for the clinical management of critically ill patients in the ICU, providing round-the-clock leadership in intensive care, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting the teaching and training of postgraduate students and resident doctors.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide comprehensive clinical care and management of critically ill patients in the ICU/Critical Care Unit
- Lead and supervise resuscitation, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced life support procedures
- Coordinate with surgical, medical, and allied specialty teams for integrated patient management
- Participate in ICU rounds, case discussions, and clinical decision-making on a daily basis
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, quality standards, and patient safety guidelines
- Supervise and mentor resident doctors, postgraduate students, and nursing staff in critical care practices
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and case records
- Participate in academic activities including teaching, CMEs,



case presentations, and research
- Be available for emergency calls and manage critical situations outside regular working hours as per duty roster
- Ensure optimal utilization of ICU resources, equipment, and staff
- Support hospital accreditation processes (NABH/NABL, if applicable) related to critical care services

Educational Qualifications:

- MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, or related specialty
- IDCCM/IFCCM or Fellowship/Diploma in Critical Care Medicine preferred
- Valid registration with the State Medical Council

Experience:

- Minimum 2-5 years of clinical experience in critical care/ICU management, preferably in a tertiary care teaching hospital

Skills Required:

- Robust clinical acumen in critical care and emergency medicine
- Proficiency in ventilator management, invasive/non-invasive monitoring, and advanced airway techniques
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills under pressure
- Ability to teach and mentor junior doctors and postgraduate students
