Apeejay School- Model Town, Jalandhar is looking for the Computer Lab Assistant.

Summary of Job:

The Computer Lab Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the computer lab infrastructure, ensuring the proper functioning of all IT equipment, providing technical support to students and staff, and assisting in the smooth operation of IT-based activities within the school.

Job Responsibilities :

Lab and Equipment Maintenance

- Regularly inspect, maintain, and ensure the smooth functioning of all computer systems, peripherals, and networking equipment in the lab.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and address technical issues promptly.
- Monitor the inventory of IT hardware and software, ensuring timely upgrades and replacements.

Desktop Maintenance and Troubleshooting

- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops and other IT devices.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems, software applications, and antivirus programs.
- Ensure proper cabling, connections, and functionality of IT equipment.

Student and Staff Support

- Provide hands-on support to students during lab sessions, ensuring they can effectively use the available resources.
- Assist teachers in setting up IT tools and resources required for classroom activities and projects.
- Address queries related to IT usage and provide guidance on basic troubleshooting techniques.

Compliance and Security





- Ensure compliance with the school's IT policies and data security protocols.
- Regularly back up critical data and implement measures to prevent unauthorized access.
- Maintain a protected and organized environment in the computer lab, adhering to health and safety standards.

Job Knowledge (Prerequisites)

- Prior experience as a Lab Assistant or in a similar role is preferred, especially in a CBSE school or educational institution.

Skills and Competencies Required:

- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and knowledge of networking basics.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage IT inventory, prioritize tasks, and maintain detailed records.

Education Qualifications Required: Graduate, preferably in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience: At least 2+ years of relevant experience in IT support or a similar role, preferably in a reputed school or educational institution.
