We are looking for a Commerce Technical Architect to own the architecture of complex enterprise commerce programs across B2C and B2B. The role involves defining target-state architecture across frontend, commerce platforms, integrations, and data, while ensuring solutions are scalable, practical, and achievable within business constraints and timelines.

The architect will work across ERP integrations and migrations, multi-region and multi-entity storefronts, B2B commerce, order management, frontend architecture, payments, tax, identity, performance, and integration platforms. The role also includes creating architecture diagrams, integration specifications, and ADRs, guiding engineering teams, managing technical dependencies, supporting migration and cutover, and communicating architectural trade-offs to both technical and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has around 10+ years of hands-on commerce engineering and architecture experience, with strong expertise in B2B commerce, ERP-centric architecture, composable/headless and traditional commerce platforms, integrations, multi-region commerce, and large-scale systems. Practical AI fluency and the ability to evaluate and apply AI-powered workflows are also expected.

What you'll do

- Own the target-state architecture across B2C and B2B commerce, including platform, frontend, integration, and data.
- Design commerce-to-ERP architecture, including sync direction, event models, reconciliation, and multi-ERP scenarios.
- Architect B2B commerce capabilities such as account hierarchies, contract/tiered pricing, quote-to-order, punchout, bulk/reorder flows, credit terms, and approval chains.
- Design multi-region,

multi-entity storefronts with regional catalogs, currencies, tax jurisdictions, and payment configurations.
- Define frontend architecture, including SSR/ISR strategy, component-driven development, design systems, and API contracts.
- Evaluate integration and iPaaS solutions and clearly define connector capabilities versus custom development requirements.
- Design for peak performance and scale, including caching and CDN architecture.
- Own migration and cutover strategy, including legacy data migration and phased/zero-downtime rollout.
- Create architecture diagrams, integration specifications, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
- Set technical standards, review designs, and mentor engineers.
- Manage technical dependencies with ERP, data, payment, and other external teams.
- Present architectural trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support presales by assessing technical feasibility and accurately scoping proposed commerce solutions.

What we're looking for

- 10+ years of experience in commerce engineering and architecture, with strong hands-on development experience.
- Strong experience with both composable/headless commerce and traditional platforms such as commercetools, BigCommerce, Shopify, and Adobe Commerce.
- Strong frontend architecture experience, including SSR, ISR,

component-driven architecture, shared design systems, and API contracts.
- Deep B2B commerce experience, including account hierarchies, contract pricing, quote-to-order, punchout, approval chains, and credit terms.
- Experience designing multi-region and multi-entity commerce platforms with regional catalogs, currencies, taxes, and payment configurations.
- Strong knowledge of order management, including split shipments, backorders, multi-warehouse fulfillment, omnichannel/BOPIS routing.
- Experience designing for performance and scale, including caching, CDN architecture, and peak traffic.
- Experience with tax, payments, compliance, and multi-currency, including platforms such as Avalara, Stripe, and Adyen.
- Strong ERP-centric architecture experience, including bidirectional data synchronization and ERP as the system of record.
- Experience with integration and iPaaS platforms such as Patchworks, Celigo, Boomi, or MuleSoft.
- Knowledge of SSO, authentication, identity, and delegated B2B access.
- Experience with migration and cutover, including phased and zero/minimal-downtime approaches.
- Solid stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to CTOs, finance teams, and other business stakeholders.
- Experience with architecture governance, including ADRs, technical standards, and design reviews.
- Practical AI fluency, including automation, retrieval/context layers, evaluations, and identifying suitable use cases for agentic workflows.
- Comfortable working with global, distributed teams and clients across different cultures and time zones.
