Sadhav Shipping Ltd. is a leading Indian maritime services company engaged in offshore support services, port marine operations, and oil spill response. The Company owns and manages a diverse fleet of approximately 20 vessels, including:

- DP2 Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) Vessels
- Offshore Support Vessels
- Port Crafts and Harbour Tugs
- Oil Spill Response Vessels and Equipment

The Company serves major oil & gas operators, ports, government agencies, and maritime stakeholders across India and neighboring regions. Position Summary The Chief Operating Officer (COO) shall be responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, commercial support, and overall performance of the Company's fleet and marine operations. The COO will ensure safe, efficient, compliant, and profitable vessel operations while driving operational excellence across all business verticals.

The position reports directly to the CEO and CMD and shall act as the principal executive responsible for all operational matters concerning the Company's fleet, marine services, technical management, safety performance, and client delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Operations Management

- Lead and oversee the safe and efficient operation of the Company's fleet.
- Ensure optimum vessel utilization, operational readiness, and contractual performance.
- Monitor fleet deployment and provide strategic direction for offshore, port, and emergency response operations.
- Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives across the fleet.

Technical and Marine Management Oversight

- Supervise technical management functions including maintenance, dry docking, repairs, surveys, and vessel performance.
- Ensure compliance with classification society, flag state, statutory, and client requirements.
- Review vessel performance metrics and implement corrective actions wherever necessary.
- Support adoption of modern maritime technologies, digitalization initiatives, and performance monitoring systems.

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ)

- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.




- Ensure compliance with ISM Code, ISPS Code, MARPOL, MLC, SOLAS, and other applicable regulations.
- Lead investigation and review of incidents, near misses, and operational deficiencies.
- Monitor HSEQ KPIs and implement improvement programs.

Commercial and Client Interface

- Support business development and tendering activities from an operational perspective.
- Act as a senior interface with clients, charterers, oil & gas companies, port authorities, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure contractual compliance and delivery of agreed service levels.
- Participate in commercial negotiations relating to operational matters.

Crew and Human Capital Management

- Provide leadership and guidance to marine, technical, crewing, and operational teams.
- Develop succession planning and talent development strategies.
- Ensure recruitment, retention, and development of competent maritime professionals.
- Foster a high-performance and accountable organizational culture.

Strategic Leadership

- Assist the CEO and CMD in developing and executing corporate strategy.
- Identify opportunities for operational expansion, fleet enhancement, and business diversification.
- Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, vessel acquisitions, and strategic investments.
- Drive organizational transformation and long-term value creation.

Regulatory and Stakeholder Management

- Maintain effective relationships with:
- DG Shipping
- Port Authorities
- Oil & Gas Operators
- Classification Societies
- Insurance Providers
- Government Agencies
- Industry Associations
- Ensure the Company remains compliant with all statutory and regulatory obligations.

Financial and Performance Management

- Prepare and manage operational budgets.
- Monitor fleet profitability, operating costs, and performance indicators.
- Ensure cost control without compromising safety, reliability, or service quality.




- Present operational performance reports to the CEO and CMD.

Qualifications

Essential

- Class I MOT Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency; OR
- Master Mariner (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency.

Preferred

- Postgraduate qualification in Shipping, Maritime Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Additional certifications in HSEQ, Project Management, Offshore Operations, or Leadership Development will be advantageous.

Experience Requirements

- Minimum 7 to 12 years of shore-based experience in progressively senior maritime operational leadership roles.
- Strong experience managing offshore support vessels, AHTS vessels, port marine crafts, tugs, and/or oil spill response operations.
- Proven track record in fleet management, marine operations, technical oversight, and client engagement.
- Experience dealing with oil & gas majors, ports, government authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large-scale maritime operations.

Authority The COO shall have executive authority over all operational departments of the Company and shall exercise such powers as may be delegated by the CEO and CMD from time to time in accordance with Company policies and governance requirements.
