About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated Aero Gas Turbine Experimental Engineer to support the development, verification, and certification of advanced aerospace gas turbine systems. The role involves defining verification strategies, executing experimental programs, supporting engine testing activities, and generating compliance evidence for airworthiness certification requirements.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams across product, systems, controls, testing, and certification functions to ensure successful product validation and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and manage Verification & Validation (V&V;) activities across products, systems, subsystems, and control systems while maintaining end-to-end requirements traceability.
- Develop and execute comprehensive verification strategies to demonstrate compliance with safety, certification, customer, and maturity requirements.
- Create and manage optimal experimental test plans aligned with verification objectives.
- Support execution of physical and analytical verification activities, including:
- Engine testing
- Hardware validation
- Instrumentation support
- Test setup and execution
- Event and failure investigations
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to generate certification evidence and technical reports.
- Analyze and interpret test data to perform engineering assessments and support decision-making.
- Support compliance activities related to CS-25, CS-23, CS-E, RTCA DO-178, DO-254, ED-79, FAA, and EASA requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within global engineering and development teams.
- Support configuration management,
verification planning, and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
Required Skills:
- Experience in Aerospace Engineering, Gas Turbine Development, or Aero Engine Verification & Validation.
- Strong understanding of Verification & Validation (V&V;) methodologies and structured verification processes.
- Exposure to airworthiness certification requirements such as:
- CS-25
- CS-23
- CS-E
- RTCA DO-178
- DO-254
- ED-79
- FAA and/or EASA regulations
- Knowledge of gas turbine hardware, systems, and engine development processes.
- Experience with engine testing, instrumentation, test execution, and test data analysis.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to evaluate complex engineering data.
- Excellent technical communication, documentation, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and global engineering teams.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and requirements management.
- Experience in Design of Experiments (DoE) and structured verification planning.
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM tools, preferably Teamcenter.
- Experience with:
- Gas turbine test vehicle build management
- Configuration management
- Strip reporting
- Verification reporting
- Compliance documentation
- Understanding of aerospace control systems verification.
- Exposure to certification audits and aerospace regulatory compliance processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering
- Applied Mathematics
- Engineering Physics
- Relevant Science or Engineering disciplines
