BIM Co-Ordinator :-

Role Purpose

Responsible for providing department-level BIM coordination, QA/QC and model auditing for projects, ensuring that BIM models, drawings and project deliverables comply with approved BIM standards, Work Instructions (WI), project requirements and agreed quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and check Electrical/Telecom BIM models across projects to ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Verify that the BIM model accurately reflects the approved engineering design and engineering intent.
- Ensure compliance with applicable BIM standards, Work Instructions (WI), BIM Execution Plan (BEP), LOD requirements, modelling guidelines and project-specific requirements.
- Carry out periodic BIM model health checks for all assigned projects and identify modelling, coordination and quality issues.
- Review BIM models for correct modelling practices, families, parameters, naming conventions, levels, views, worksets, links and model organization, as applicable to the project.
- Review drawing presentation and documentation quality, including plans, sections, elevations, details, annotations, dimensions, tags, legends, notes and schedules.
- Check sheet templates and drawing layouts to ensure they comply with approved department/project standards and WI.
- Verify consistency between the BIM model, drawings, schedules and other project deliverables.
- Carry out pre-submission BIM QA/QC checks and highlight issues requiring correction before project submission.
- Prepare and issue BIM QA/QC reports and checklists,



track comments and monitor their closure with the project teams.
- Perform clash detection and coordination reviews, prepare clash reports and share identified issues with the relevant project/design teams.
- Conduct model coordination reviews with other disciplines and support resolution of interdisciplinary coordination issues.
- Prepare BIM walkthrough videos / model reviews where required to demonstrate coordination issues, design/interface concerns and key project observations to the design team.
- Present significant BIM/model coordination issues to Engineers, Group Leaders and Project Leads and support timely resolution.
- Carry out periodic audits across projects to identify recurring BIM, modelling, drawing presentation and documentation issues.
- Ensure that lessons learned and recurring QA/QC observations are communicated to Engineers and BIM Modelers to improve project delivery.
- Provide guidance to BIM Modelers on modelling standards, drawing presentation, sheet setup and BIM best practices.
- Support Engineers and BIM Modelers in implementing department BIM workflows, standards, checklists and templates.
- Monitor and promote consistent implementation of the Electrical Department BIM workflow across projects.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of BIM processes, workflows and quality standards within the Electrical Department.
- Coordinate with relevant BIM/Design Leads to ensure alignment of department practices with company-wide BIM standards and requirements.
