Role & responsibilities

- Supervise and manage daily nursing activities and patient care in the ward.
- Allocate duties and manage staffing as per patient load and operational requirements.
- Monitor nursing care, medication administration, treatment, and procedures.
- Conduct regular rounds and ensure timely identification and escalation of patient care issues.
- Coordinate with consultants, doctors, and other departments for patient care.
- Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation, reports, and patient records.
- Ensure proper shift handover and continuity of patient care.
- Monitor compliance with infection control, patient safety, and hospital protocols.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of medicines, consumables, and nursing equipment.
- Handle patient and attendant concerns and coordinate for timely resolution.
- Supervise, guide, and train nursing staff to maintain quality standards.
- Monitor ward hygiene, cleanliness, and overall patient environment.
- Conduct nursing audits and monitor quality indicators as per hospital requirements.




- Report incidents, adverse events, and operational issues to the Nursing Superintendent.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital SOPs, and nursing policies.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.Sc Nursing / GNM with valid nursing registration.
- 8-10 years of relevant hospital nursing experience, preferably with ward management experience.
- Experience in handling and supervising nursing staff.
- Strong knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care, medication administration, and documentation.
- Knowledge of infection control, patient safety, and NABH standards.
- Good communication, leadership, and team management skills.
- Ability to handle patient and attendant concerns professionally.
- Positive coordination skills with doctors and multidisciplinary departments.
- Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
