Role & responsibilities

- Verify parts against engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and control plans.
- Perform first-piece inspection after machine setup or tool change.
- Carry out in-process inspection at defined intervals.
- Identify dimensional, visual, and machining defects such as burrs, scratches, wrong dimensions, poor surface finish, or incorrect threads.
- Record inspection results in inspection reports, check sheets, and quality records.
- Segregate and identify OK, rejected, and rework parts to prevent mixing.
- Inform the machine operator, production supervisor, and quality engineer when defects are found.
- Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring quality problems.
- Verify tool wear and process conditions when dimensions start going out of tolerance.
- Ensure measuring instruments are calibrated and properly maintained.
- Maintain traceability of inspected components, batches, and inspection records.
- Follow 5S, safety, quality procedures, and company work instructions.
- Assist during internal, customer, and quality-system audits.
