Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Data & AI Engineer who can work closely with customers and internal technical teams on Data, Analytics, BI and AI-driven projects.
The role requires a combination of technical understanding, requirement gathering, customer interaction and documentation skills. The candidate should be comfortable understanding business requirements and use cases, translating them into data/KPI requirements, and coordinating with technical teams for implementation.
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers and stakeholders to understand business requirements, use cases, KPIs and reporting requirements.
- Participate in requirement-gathering workshops and convert business requirements into structured functional and technical requirements.
- Understand available customer data, data sources, reports, applications and integration requirements.
- Support identification and definition of KPIs, dashboards, analytics and AI/ML use cases.
- Coordinate with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Data Scientists, AI Engineers and application teams for solution implementation.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including requirement documents, use-case documents, KPI definitions, data mappings, meeting notes, action trackers and status reports.
- Act as a customer-facing technical representative and support regular discussions, demonstrations, reviews and follow-ups.
- Track requirements, dependencies, data availability and pending actions with customer and internal teams.
- Support validation of dashboards, reports, analytics outputs and AI-based solutions against agreed business requirements.
- Assist the project team during implementation, testing, UAT and rollout activities.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 5-6 years of overall experience in Data, Analytics, BI, AI/ML,
Data Engineering or related technology projects.
- Prior experience working on customer-facing Data, Analytics, BI or AI projects.
- Good understanding of:
- Data Engineering and data integration concepts
- Databases and SQL
- Data Warehousing / Data Lakes
- Business Intelligence and dashboards
- Data Analytics
- Basic AI/ML and Generative AI concepts
- APIs and system integrations
- Ability to understand business processes and translate them into data requirements, KPIs and technology use cases.
- Experience working with tools/platforms such as Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, Databricks, ETL/Data Integration tools or equivalent technologies would be useful.
- Solid documentation and presentation skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting directly with customers, senior stakeholders and technical teams.
- Ability to independently manage follow-ups, requirements and coordination across multiple stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience in Government / Public Sector / Enterprise transformation projects would be an advantage.
- Exposure to AI/ML, Generative AI, LLMs or Agentic AI projects is desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience with dashboarding, KPI frameworks, MIS or executive reporting projects will be preferred.
- Candidates currently based in Patna/Bihar or willing to work from Patna will be preferred.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate does not necessarily need to be a hardcore Data Scientist or AI Developer. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of Data & Analytics projects who can comfortably engage with customers, understand requirements, define KPIs/use cases, prepare documentation and work with technical teams to drive implementation.
