Role & responsibilities

The Business Development Manager General Insurance will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, and expanding the client base across individual, SME, corporate, and MNC segments. This role involves meeting prospective and existing clients, understanding their risk and coverage needs, and recommending suitable general insurance solutions in coordination with internal teams. The manager will maintain and grow key accounts, negotiate terms with insurers and clients, prepare proposals, and ensure timely follow-up to close business. Daily activities include market research, pipeline management, reporting sales performance to leadership, and collaborating with underwriting and operations teams to ensure smooth policy issuance and renewals. This is a full-time, in office role based in Hyderabad.

Preferred candidate profile

- Bachelors degree in business, finance, insurance, or any graduation; professional insurance certifications are a plus, preferably a Broker Qualified Person”.




- Experience of at least 5 years in General Insurance and corporate sales is a must, with good customer connects
- Proven experience in general insurance sales or business development, with strong knowledge of general insurance products and risk management concepts.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships, including experience working with individuals, SMEs, corporates, and MNCs.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for client meetings, proposals, and deal closure.
- Competence in lead generation, pipeline management, and basic sales reporting using CRM or similar tools.
- Comfort working in a target-driven environment with the ability to plan, prioritize, and work independently on-site.
- Knowledge of the local Hyderabad and Telangana market; fluency in English, Hindi and Telugu languages is beneficial.
