Core Responsibilities
- Draw Blood: Collect blood using venipuncture (puncturing a vein), fingersticks, or heel sticks.
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify their identity, explain procedures, and calm anxious individuals.
- Sample Labeling: Accurately label vials and enter patient data into a digital database to prevent mix-ups.
- Sanitation: Follow strict hygiene rules, sterilize equipment, and safely dispose of needles.
- Transport: Prepare and ship blood or fluid specimens to the laboratory.
