Cloud Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure infrastructure to join our Cloud Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and supporting enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure solutions while ensuring security, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.

This role will primarily focus on Azure platform services, infrastructure automation, cloud governance, disaster recovery, and platform optimization. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Terraform, cloud operations, and automation, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, application, and security teams.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure

- Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Manage Azure compute, storage, networking, backup, databases, Serverless Services, security, and identity services.
- Ensure cloud environments are secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient.
- Support infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation initiatives.
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules and deployment frameworks.
- Standardize cloud deployments through automation and best practices.
- Participate in infrastructure design reviews and architecture discussions.

Automation & Platform Operations

- Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Develop automation solutions using Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar scripting languages.
- Implement automated provisioning, monitoring, and operational processes.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve platform stability and operational excellence.

Cloud Governance & Security

- Implement and maintain cloud governance standards and security controls.
- Support audit, compliance, and risk remediation activities.




- Collaborate with security teams to ensure adherence to enterprise security requirements.
- Manage cloud resource policies, access controls, and configuration standards.

Monitoring & Support

- Monitor cloud platform health, performance, and availability.
- Troubleshoot production issues and participate in root cause analysis activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to application and project teams.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and standards.

Cost Optimization

- Analyze cloud utilization and recommend cost optimization opportunities.
- Support FinOps initiatives through resource optimization and governance practices.
- Monitor cloud consumption and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Required Qualifications

Experience Range: 5-8 Years
Primary Skill Set: Microsoft Azure, Terraform, Automation/Scripting, Cloud Operations, Azure Networking & Security and Disaster Recovery
Preferred Additional Experience: GCP, Database Platforms, Kubernetes, Cloud Governance, Cost Optimization, Azure Databricks and Azure AI Foundry / GenAI Platforms

Technical Skills

- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and infrastructure.
- Proven experience working with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, compute, storage, backup, databases, Serverless Services, security, and identity services.
- Experience managing and supporting production cloud environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.




- Experience with scripting and automation using Python, bash, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of cloud security, governance, backup, and disaster recovery principles.

Nice-to-Have Skills

- Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Knowledge of database technologies such as Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, or similar cloud database platforms.

Experience with Azure serverless technologies including Function Apps, Logic Apps, Event Grid, and Service Bus.

Experience with Azure Databricks and modern data platform services.

- Familiarity with Kubernetes platforms and containerized environments.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, observability, and logging solutions.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization and governance initiatives.
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent cloud certifications.
