The role has a particular focus on urea product handling and export conveyor systems, urea ship loaders, ammonia loading operations, jetties and marine facilities. The position involves technical guidance, engineering analysis, problem-solving and coordination of project activities.

Key responsibilities include reviewing process design deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs;, heat and material balances and process simulations. The engineer will also participate in HAZOP, SIL, QRA, HAZID and other multidisciplinary technical reviews.

The candidate will review technical documents submitted by EPCC contractors, monitor engineering progress, coordinate with construction teams and help resolve technical issues and interface-related challenges.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a relevant discipline and at least 10 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical or EPC industry. Experience in product handling, ship loading, jetty or marine facilities is required, while experience with ammonia and urea major projects is preferred.

Emergency Response Member

Location: Mesaieed, Qatar

Function: HSEQ

QAFCO is also looking for an Emergency Response Member responsible for responding to emergency calls, firefighting and rescue operations, controlling site access and operating safety and firefighting equipment.

The employee will respond to fire alarms, ambulance calls and other emergencies and may be required to handle chemical spills. The role also involves routine inspections and preventive maintenance of emergency and firefighting equipment.

Candidates must have at least a high school qualification in a relevant discipline and a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, fertiliser or heavy manufacturing industry.

NFPA Firefighter I & II or equivalent and valid First Aid/CPR certifications are required. HazMat, rescue and other emergency-response certifications will be considered an advantage. Valid light and heavy vehicle driving licences are mandatory.

Turnaround Engineer – Contracts & Costing

Location: Mesaieed, Qatar

Function: Operations

Contract: Indefinite Contract

This position is responsible for managing the contract lifecycle for goods and services associated with turnaround activities. The role focuses on high-value and complex contracting and capital procurement requirements.

The successful candidate will coordinate with engineers and other trades, monitor turnaround planning and expenditure, examine contractor performance and maintain cost databases. The position also supports the development of long-term turnaround capital plans.

Responsibilities include reviewing contracting policies and procedures, developing tendering strategies, identifying potential bidders, exploring cost-saving opportunities and monitoring turnaround expenditure.

The engineer will also prepare progress, accrual and outlook reports, conduct budget-versus-actual analysis and support the preparation of the company's five-year rolling capital turnaround plan.
