Role Description

This is a full time, on-site Fashion Designer role based in Ahmedabad. The Fashion Designer will conceptualize and develop new ethnic and indo-western collections, including garments such as sherwanis, sarees, jackets, and co-ords aligned with KIAAYO’s brand aesthetic. Responsibilities include sketching designs, selecting fabrics and trims, working with embroidery and surface embellishments, and overseeing sampling and fittings to ensure quality and comfort. The role involves close collaboration with artisans and production teams to translate design concepts into finished products,



maintaining consistency in craftsmanship and detail. The Fashion Designer will also research trends, colors, and textile innovations, contribute to seasonal collection planning, and support lookbook or photo shoot preparations as needed.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Fashion Design and Fashion skills, with a focus on ethnic and indo-western wear.
- Candidates should possess skills in Embroidery and surface ornamentation, with an understanding of traditional Indian craft techniques.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Textiles, including fabric selection, drape, and material behavior.
- Candidates should possess solid Fitting skills, ensuring garments are comfortable, well-structured, and tailored to specifications.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in sketching and design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, fashion CAD) and technical specification creation.
- Candidates should possess strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with artisans, pattern makers, and production teams.
- Relevant education in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field is preferred, along with prior experience in luxury or ethnic fashion.
- Candidates should possess attention to detail, an understanding of quality standards, and a commitment to inclusive and ethical design practices.
