We’re looking for a Technical Writer on a contract basis who can help user and make a complex technical product easier to understand and use.

This isn’t purely a documentation role. A big part of the work will be within the product itself—working with designers and product designers on UX copy, terminology, workflows, and helping user explain technical concepts without making them sound unnecessarily technical.

What you’ll work on

You’ll work closely with our Product, Design, and Engineering teams on things like:

- Writing and refining UX microcopy — labels, buttons, tooltips, empty states, errors, warnings, confirmations, onboarding messages, and other in-product content.
- Creating product documentation for new and existing features.
- Turning complex workflows and technical concepts into documentation that users can actually understand and follow.
- Working with designers on prototypes and reviewing screens from a content and usability perspective.
- Creating user guides, feature guides, FAQs, troubleshooting documentation, and release-related content.
- Talking to engineers and subject-matter experts to understand how something actually works before documenting it.
- Helping us establish consistent terminology across the product and documentation.
- Building lightweight writing guidelines so we’re consistent about things like tone,



capitalization, terminology, error messages, and common UX patterns.
- Reviewing existing product copy and documentation and improving areas that are unclear, inconsistent, or overly technical.

What we’re looking for

1. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable getting into the details of a technical product but knows when those details matter to the user and when they don’t.
2. You should have experience with technical or product writing and ideally have worked on B2B, SaaS, enterprise, cybersecurity, infrastructure, developer tools, or similarly technical products.
3. Experience working directly with Product and UX teams is important. You should be comfortable looking at a Figma screen and discussing not just grammar, but whether the language actually helps the user understand what’s happening and what they need to do next.
4. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who can take something complicated and make it clear, concise, and helpful without losing its technical meaning.
5. This is a contract role, and the exact scope will evolve with the product. Some weeks may involve more UX writing, while others may involve deeper product documentation. We’re looking for someone comfortable moving between both.
