Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Store Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of the hospital stores,

ensuring timely availability, proper storage, accurate inventory control, and smooth distribution of medicines,

medical consumables, surgical items, implants, and other hospital materials.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the overall day-to-day operations of the hospital stores.

Maintain adequate stock levels of medical consumables, surgical items, general supplies, housekeeping materials, and other hospital requirements.

Receive, verify, and properly store materials received from vendors.

Ensure materials are issued to respective departments based on approved requisitions.

Maintain accurate stock registers, inventory records, GRN, issue records, and purchase-related documents.

Monitor stock levels and prepare purchase/reorder requirements based on consumption and minimum stock levels.

Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconcile physical stock with system records.

Ensure proper batch-wise and expiry-date-wise inventory management wherever applicable.

Follow FIFO/FEFO principles for appropriate materials.

Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, damaged, and expired stock and report the same to the concerned authority.

Coordinate with Purchase, Pharmacy, Accounts, Nursing, OT, Biomedical, Housekeeping, and other departments regarding material requirements.

Ensure proper documentation for material receipts, transfers, returns, and issues.

Monitor vendor deliveries and coordinate with the Purchase team regarding shortages, damages, and discrepancies.

Ensure proper storage conditions, cleanliness, safety,



and organized arrangement of all store areas.

Support internal and external audits by maintaining proper records and documentation.

Prepare regular inventory and consumption reports for management.

Control wastage, excess stock, and unnecessary purchases.

Ensure compliance with hospital policies and applicable inventory-control procedures.

Lead and monitor Store Executives/Assistants and allocate daily responsibilities.

Train and guide store staff on proper inventory handling and documentation.

Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of hospital inventory and procurement-related information.

Required Skills & Competencies

Good knowledge of hospital stores and inventory management.Experience in handling medical and surgical consumables.

Solid knowledge of stock reconciliation and inventory documentation.

Good understanding of FIFO/FEFO, expiry management, and stock control.

Proficiency in MS Excel and inventory/Hospital Management Software (HMS/ERP).

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong coordination and communication skills.

Ability to manage a team and work under pressure.

Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Qualification

Any Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Materials Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a relevant field. Candidates with hospital stores experience will be preferred.

Experience

2–5 years of relevant experience in Hospital Stores / Medical Stores / Healthcare Inventory Management.
