Inspire Institute of Sport is looking for an intern to join their data team in Vijayanagar, Bellary.Role OverviewThe Data team at IIS builds the systems and processes that support performance data across the institute, from athlete onboarding to day-to-day data collection and reporting. This internship offers hands-on exposure to how data, technology, and sport intersect at a high-performance residential institute, working closely with the Data team and sports science staff across disciplines.Key Responsibilities1. Teamworks Platform SupportAssist the Data team with everyday tasks on IIS's athlete management platform (Teamworks), including supporting athlete onboarding and related processesHelp maintain accurate and up-to-date athlete records on the platform2. Performance Data Collection & CoordinationAssist in collecting and organizing performance data across sportsSupport and collaborate with sports teams to ensure consistent and timely use of Teamworks for data recording3. Documentation & Process SupportHelp build clear guides and reference material for internal processes and platform useSupport the Data team in maintaining organized, well-documented records4.



Data Cleaning & AnalysisAssist in cleaning and organizing raw data for accuracy and consistencySupport basic data analysis to identify trends and patterns in performance dataQualifications & ExperienceEssentialBachelor's or Master's degree in a related fieldPrior internship or project experience in a data/analytics context preferredStrong working proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong attention to detail and comfort working with structured processesDesirableProficiency in Python, R, SQL, or other data manipulation toolsInterest in sport, athlete performance, or high-performance environmentsKey CompetenciesCollaboration: Works effectively across sports and support teams to get things done.Learning Agility: Quick to pick up recent tools and processes with minimal hand-holding.Communication: Clear, professional communication with sports teams and internal stakeholders.Attention to Detail: High accuracy in data entry, documentation, and coordination tasks.Adaptability: Comfortable learning new platforms and adjusting to a fast-paced, high-performance environment.Ownership: Takes responsibility for assigned tasks and follows through with minimal supervision.Working ConditionsBase: Vijayanagar, Karnataka (on-campus)Full-time, in-person internship for the 4-month duration (preferably starting in September 2026)
