? About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Open Source Engineer to support Open Source Software (OSS) governance, licensing, compliance, vulnerability management, and software supply-chain activities.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with OSS/FOSS compliance, Software Composition Analysis (SCA), SBOM, OSS licensing, and related governance processes. Experience in automotive or embedded software projects will be highly preferred.

? Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support Open Source Software (OSS) governance and compliance activities.
- Identify, review, and ensure compliance with OSS licenses.
- Support OSS policies, approval workflows, and governance frameworks.
- Perform Software Composition Analysis (SCA) across software projects.
- Support vulnerability and dependency management activities.
- Work with OSS compliance and license management tools such as:
- Black Duck
- WhiteSource / Mend
- FOSSID
- Snyk
- Similar SCA / OSS compliance tools
- Support SBOM generation, analysis, and compliance activities.
- Support OSS audits and software supply-chain compliance requirements.
- Work with Git, GitHub, GitLab, and modern software development environments.
- Support OSS compliance activities within automotive software projects.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, legal, and compliance teams to resolve OSS licensing and vulnerability issues.

? Required Skills
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience.




- Strong experience in Open Source / FOSS Governance and Compliance.
- Strong understanding of Open Source licensing and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with one or more SCA / OSS compliance tools, such as Black Duck, WhiteSource/Mend, FOSSID, Snyk, or similar.
- Experience with OSS vulnerability and dependency management.
- Good understanding of SBOM and software supply-chain compliance.
- Working knowledge of Git, GitHub, GitLab, and software development environments.
- Strong communication, analytical, and collaboration skills.

? Good to Have
- Automotive industry experience.
- Embedded software development environment experience.
- Knowledge of SPDX.
- Knowledge of CycloneDX.
- Knowledge of OpenChain.
- Experience supporting OSS audits and enterprise OSS governance programs.
- Exposure to automotive software compliance and software supply-chain standards.

? Travel The role may require up to 2 weeks of travel to Shin-Kawasaki, Japan, based on project requirements.

JLPT / Japanese language proficiency is NOT required.
