Role Overview
We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineering Intern who is interested in medical devices, embedded systems, electronics, and product development.
The intern will work closely with our R&D; team and gain hands-on experience in the design, prototyping, integration, testing, and validation of medical and biomedical devices.
Prior professional experience in medical-device development is not required. Academic projects, personal projects, internships, or hands-on experimentation with electronics, embedded systems, CAD, or sensors will be considered valuable.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of electro-mechanical systems for medical and biomedical applications.
- Interface and test sensors such as ECG, SpO₂, temperature, pressure, and other physiological sensors.
- Work with microcontrollers such as ESP32, STM32, Arduino, or similar platforms.
- Assist with sensor communication using I2C, SPI, UART, ADC, and other hardware interfaces.
- Support embedded firmware development and debugging using C/C .
- Assist with data acquisition, basic signal processing, filtering, and analysis of biomedical signals.
- Participate in prototype assembly, wiring, soldering, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with PCB design,
schematic review, and basic hardware debugging.
- Develop or modify CAD models for enclosures, mechanical components, sheet-metal parts, and prototypes.
- Support rapid prototyping using 3D printing and other fabrication methods.
- Perform experiments, collect test data, document observations, and prepare test reports.
- Work with the engineering team to identify hardware, firmware, and mechanical issues during development.
- Assist in maintaining technical documentation, design records, and testing procedures.
- Learn and follow basic medical-device development, safety, and quality practices.
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of electronics, mechanical systems, and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers such as ESP32, STM32, or Arduino.
- Basic knowledge of C/C and/or Python.
- Understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART.
- Basic knowledge of sensors and signal acquisition.
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar software.
- Basic soldering, breadboarding, prototyping, and debugging skills.
- Interest in biomedical sensors and signals.
- Familiarity with PCB design tools such as KiCad, Altium, or Eagle is a plus.
- Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink or basic signal processing is a plus.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Electronics / Electrical Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Robotics
- Mechanical Engineering with electronics/embedded exposure
- or a related engineering field
- Freshers and students are encouraged to apply.
- Academic or personal projects involving embedded systems, electronics, sensors, robotics, medical devices, or CAD are preferred.
- Strong willingness to learn and work on hands-on engineering problems.
- Good problem-solving, debugging, communication, and teamwork skills.
