Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Design Engineer role based in Palghat.

The Mechanical Design

Engineer will develop and refine mechanical designs for polymer-based components and assemblies used in electrical, industrial, automotive, and infrastructure applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings, performing design calculations, and supporting material selection in collaboration with application engineering and production teams. The role involves working closely with OEM customers, translating application requirements into manufacturable designs, and coordinating with extrusion, molding,



and tooling teams to ensure design feasibility and quality.

The engineer will also assist in prototype development, testing support, design validation, and continuous improvement of existing products and processes.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to elastomer and polymer components.
- Proficiency in Machine Design, including mechanisms, assemblies, tolerances, and material behavior under mechanical, thermal, and environmental loads.
- Experience in Product Design for industrial, electrical, automotive, or similar applications, with a focus on manufacturability and performance.
- Advanced skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling and 2D drawings, and familiarity with relevant standards and GD&T.;
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, standards, and customer requirements, and translate them into robust design solutions.
- Experience working with polymers, rubber, or elastomeric materials, extrusion or molding processes, and OEM environments is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams in office.
