Role Overview

The Senior Consultant Environmental Specialist & Government Process Reengineering brings together environmental regulatory expertise and process redesign,



leading the process reengineering workstream of a Programme Management Unit (PMU) supporting a government / regulatory client. The role calls for someone who understands how environmental regulation actually works on the ground consent to establish and operate, waste authorisations, inspections, sampling and laboratory analysis, and enforcement action and who can redesign those processes so they become simpler, faster, and more transparent without weakening environmental protection.

The role spans study of how regulatory processes run today, technical and procedural redesign, delegation of powers, SOPs and service standards, organisational and laboratory capacity review, pilot rollout, and measurement of improvement. It requires the ability to work with technical officers and administrative staff alike, and to design changes that hold up against the Water Act, the Air Act, the Setting (Protection) Act, and the waste-management rules etc.
