Plant Designation: - Technical & Plant Head Location: East Africa Job Role Overview:- We are seeking an experienced Plant & Technical Head to lead the establishment, commissioning, and operations of a Construction Chemicals manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for product development for Dry-Mix Mortars, Tile Adhesives, Grouts, Waterproofing Systems, Repair Mortars, Flooring Systems, Non-Shrink Grouts, and Concrete Admixtures, manufacturing excellence, quality systems, technical services, and team leadership while ensuring compliance with international standards. Key Responsibilities: - 1. Product Development & Technical Leadership - Lead formulation and development of dry-mix and liquid construction chemical products. - Benchmark products against leading brands and international standards. - Optimize formulations for performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturing efficiency. - Drive continuous product improvement based on market and customer feedback. 2. Raw Material & Supplier Management - Approve and qualify raw materials and suppliers. - Evaluate local and imported raw material sources. - Establish technical specifications and quality standards for incoming materials. - Manage supplier performance and alternate sourcing strategies. 3. Plant Setup & Manufacturing Operations - Lead plant design, installation, commissioning, and production start-up activities. - Oversee production planning, process efficiency, yield improvement, and cost control. - Ensure smooth plant operations, maintenance coordination, and inventory management. - Drive manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. 4.



Quality Assurance & R&D; - Establish and manage QA/QC and R&D; laboratories. - Define testing protocols, product specifications, and quality standards. - Ensure compliance with international construction chemical standards. - Support product validation, certification, and performance testing. 5. Technical Service & Customer Support - Provide technical guidance to customers, contractors, consultants, and project teams. - Handle product performance issues and customer complaints. - Conduct product demonstrations, application trials, and training programs. - Develop technical datasheets, application guides, and related documentation. 6. Team Leadership - Build and lead Production, QA/QC, R&D;, Maintenance, and Technical Service teams. - Develop SOPs, training plans, performance objectives, and succession plans. - Mentor and develop technical talent within the organization. 7. Cost, Compliance & EHS - Drive cost optimization through formulation improvements and process efficiencies. - Monitor product profitability and manufacturing costs. - Ensure compliance with EHS, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. - Promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence. Desired Candidate: - - B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical, Civil, Materials Engineering, or related discipline. - 15–25 years of experience, including 12+ years in Construction Chemicals. - Minimum 5 years in a Plant Head, Technical Head, Manufacturing Head, or similar leadership role. - Solid experience in Dry-Mix Mortars, Tile Adhesives, Grouts, Waterproofing Systems, Repair Mortars, Flooring Systems, Non-Shrink Grouts, and Concrete Admixtures.
