Role Description The Engineering Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in North Goa, responsible for leading and mentoring a team of engineers to deliver high-quality technology solutions that support Polaris School of Technology’s academic and operational goals. This role oversees planning and execution of engineering projects, ensures alignment of technical roadmaps with institutional priorities, and promotes best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.

The Engineering

Manager collaborates closely with academic leadership, product teams, and operations to build and maintain robust platforms for learning, administration, and community engagement. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing team workloads, conducting code and design reviews,



fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable systems. The role also involves hiring and developing engineering talent, defining clear performance expectations, and supporting cross-functional initiatives that enhance the learner experience.

Qualifications

- Robust software engineering background with experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable web or platform applications.
- Proven people management skills, including team leadership, performance management, mentoring, and coaching engineers at different career stages.
- Experience in project and delivery management, including planning, prioritization, stakeholder communication, and risk management.
- Knowledge of modern development practices and tools, such as version control, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with academic, product, and operations teams, translating institutional needs into technical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in edtech, higher education, or mission-driven organizations is highly beneficial.
