Role Description The Database Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure database systems that support high-volume real estate and lending transactions.

The Database

Engineer will develop and optimize database schemas, write efficient queries and stored procedures, monitor performance, and implement backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with software engineers and data teams to support application features, integrating data from multiple sources, enforcing data quality and security controls, and troubleshooting database-related issues in production environments.



The role also involves contributing to database best practices, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system reliability and performance.

Qualifications

- Robust skills in relational database design and management using platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Proficiency in SQL development, including complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning.
- Experience with database administration tasks such as monitoring, capacity planning, backup and recovery, and high-availability configurations.
- Familiarity with data modeling, normalization, indexing strategies, and optimization for transactional and analytical workloads.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages for database integration and automation.
- Understanding of data security, encryption, access controls, and compliance practices in financial or regulated environments.
- Experience working with cloud-based databases or data services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL) is beneficial.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and document solutions effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in fintech, real estate technology, or financial services is a plus.
