Role Description The Data Science Mentor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The mentor will guide learners through core data science concepts, including statistics, programming, machine learning, and practical problem-solving. Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering interactive sessions, clarifying doubts, reviewing projects, and providing constructive feedback on assignments and case studies.

The role involves designing and updating learning materials, creating real-world datasets and examples, and supporting learners in interview and placement preparation.



The mentor will collaborate with the academic and product teams to continuously improve curriculum quality and learner outcomes.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in data science concepts, including statistics, probability, data analysis, and machine learning.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python or R, and familiarity with libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, or similar.
- Experience working with data visualization tools and techniques (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, or BI tools) to explain insights clearly.
- Practical experience with real-world datasets, model building, evaluation, and deploying or presenting data-driven solutions.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in easy, structured ways to learners of varying skill levels.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and classroom facilitation skills, with a learner-centric approach.
- Comfort with creating and refining teaching materials, including slides, exercises, projects, and assessments.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Interest in education, training, and career development, with a commitment to supporting diverse learners.
