Role Description The Data Science Mentor will guide learners through core and advanced data science concepts, including statistics, machine learning, and practical applications in industry projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering classroom sessions, explaining complex topics in a simple and structured manner, reviewing assignments and projects, and providing individualized feedback to help learners improve. The mentor will also design or refine curriculum materials, create problem statements and case studies, and support learners in interview and placement preparation.





Collaboration with other mentors and program managers to continuously improve teaching methods and learning outcomes is expected. This is a full-time, in office role based in Chennai.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in data science concepts, including statistics, machine learning, data preprocessing, and model evaluation.
- Hands-on experience with common data science tools and languages such as Python, data analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy), and visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, or similar).
- Experience working with real-world datasets, building end-to-end projects, and communicating insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to mentor and teach, including lesson planning, explaining complex ideas clearly, and giving constructive feedback to learners.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse learner groups and foster an inclusive learning environment.
- Prior experience in teaching, training, or mentoring in data science or related fields is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to work on-site in Chennai and collaborate with cross-functional teams focused on learner success and placements.
