Role: Database Architect PostgreSQL

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Database Architect with robust expertise in PostgreSQL database architecture, design, performance, scalability, high availability, and security. This is a purely database-focused role and not a Data Architect role.

Key Responsibilities
Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performing PostgreSQL databases.
Define database schemas, tables, indexes, partitioning, and database standards.
Perform SQL query and database performance tuning.
Design and implement High Availability, replication, failover, and Disaster Recovery solutions.
Manage PostgreSQL backup, recovery, upgrades, and migrations.
Implement database security, user access, roles, and privileges.
Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability.
Troubleshoot complex database issues and production incidents.
Work with application, infrastructure,



and Dev Ops teams on database requirements and solutions.

Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL Database Architecture and Administration.
Expertise in SQL, Query Optimization, Performance Tuning, Indexing, and Partitioning.
Experience with PostgreSQL Replication, High Availability, Failover, and Disaster Recovery.
Solid knowledge of Backup and Recovery.
Experience with database security and access management.
Experience with database migration and version upgrades.
Solid understanding of database scalability and capacity planning.
Experience working in Linux environments.

Preferred Skills
PostgreSQL tools: Patroni, Pgpool-II, PgBouncer, repmgr.
Backup tools: pg Back Rest, Barman.
Cloud PostgreSQL experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Docker and Kubernetes exposure.
