You make things and put them out into the world. Essays, films, photographs, podcasts, design. You know the difference between having a thought and getting it out of your head in a form someone else wants to look at. This job asks you to take twenty-odd people of 18 to 22 through that, once a month, and not let a any one of them stop before it's published.
WHY THIS JOB EXISTS The Working BBA is a three-year degree where real work is the curriculum. Students run projects for real companies and do real apprenticeships. That is a lot of doing. Conflexion is where they stop and make sense of it. Once a month each student looks back, finds the one thing worth saying, and publishes it under their own name.
A student sells tea for three days and makes ₹847. That is an experience. "Selling has less to do with the product than with the presence of the seller." That is the thing they carry into the next ten years.
We've run this before. It works when someone holds it properly, and quietly dies when nobody does. You're the person who holds it.
WHAT A ROUND LOOKS LIKE
One round a month, inside the LE day. Students are together in a room. You are either in the room or on the screen in front of them. About seven hours of contact time, plus your own prep and the guest.
- Launch, 15 minutes. You set the theme and the form for this round, and play or read the best piece from last time.
- Dig, 2 hours. They sweep the month, list what actually landed, pick one thing, find the story underneath it, and leave with a skeleton.
- Build, 2.5 to 5 hours. Quiet making time. You run thirty-minute one-to-ones with each participant. Nobody leaves without a full rough draft.
- Show, 2 hours. You bring in a guest from outside for the first hour, a real reader or listener who responds honestly. Then final polish. Everyone publishes before they leave the room.
WHAT YOU OWN
- Run the four sessions from our kit, in your own voice, and find and brief the guest. The guest is yours, from your own network, and a new one every round.
- Sit one-to-one with every student for 30 minutes. Listen far more than you talk.
- Get every student published. Not eighteen of twenty. That is the deliverable. Attendance isn't.
- Send us a one-page note when the round closes: what landed, who's stuck, what you'd change.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
1. You publish your own work. Regularly, somewhere public, under your own name. We'll read it. This matters more than anything else on this page.
2. You can hold a room of twenty young people and make it safe enough that they say a true thing out loud. From whoever ran this best: "I spend the first fifteen minutes just chatting about their week and not talking about Conflexion at all."
3. You listen. The one-to-ones are where this job is won or lost, and they are mostly you being quiet.
4. You can host a guest, and you're reliable on a calendar. You know people who make things and would give an hour to a room of young people. Four fixed dates a month, booked a term in advance.
NICE TO HAVE
- Strong in a second form, so you can carry a written round and an audio one
- Some experience with youngsters, and based in or near Pune for the in-person rounds
- Marathi or Hindi alongside English
Your degree, and where it's from, isn't something we look at.
WHAT THIS IS NOT
Not an English class. We are not fixing anybody's grammar. Not content creation. We are not making influencers. Not a writing course with a syllabus, and no lectures. Nothing here is graded, ranked or scored, ever. Something honest and clumsy beats something polished and hollow.
HOW THE BENCH WORKS
We keep six to eight hosts and rotate you. Nobody runs more than two rounds in a row, because familiarity is what kills this process. You'd do two to four rounds a year, some in person, some online, dates agreed a term ahead. We give you the kit: prompts, session plans, timings, the guest brief, the publishing checklist. You bring the craft and the guest. You don't build curriculum. One person at LE runs the bench and is your point of contact.
WHAT IT PAYS A flat fee per round rather than an hourly rate. The round is the unit, and it covers the guest, the one-to-ones and getting everyone over the line. ₹35,000 to ₹50,000 per round. Where you land in that range comes down to whether the round is in person or online, and how much of a public body of work you bring. Travel is covered for in-person rounds, and you're paid within 15 days of a round closing.
We aim to pay above market. If you think the number should be different, say so and tell us why. We're building the bench now and would like you on a round within the term.
THE FIVE THINGS WE ASK OF EACH OTHER
संकल्प Set intent, don't do things blindly. हिम्मत Have courage, stick your neck out. मस्ती Be playful, enjoy the process. विनम्रता Stay humble, no one knows it all. करो Take action, being wrong beats being stagnant.
We take our values very lightly. Hospitals are the place for people who are responsible.
