About the Role

We are seeking experienced Backend Developers who will build scalable, production-grade backend services and APIs that power AI/GenAI clinical applications across pharmacovigilance (Safety Case Management, Signal Detection), regulatory (VPG Documentation), and clinical operations domains. You will integrate LLM APIs, build agentic workflow orchestration, and deploy microservices on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Python (FastAPI/Django) on AWS infrastructure
- Build backend services for AI-powered agentic clinical workflows (safety case processing, document generation, signal detection)
- Integrate LLM APIs (AWS Bedrock — Claude, Titan) into backend services for document generation, entity extraction, and reasoning
- Implement and manage data repositories (DynamoDB, RDS, OpenSearch)
- Deploy and manage containerized services on AWS (ECS/Fargate, Lambda)
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment
- Configure networking, security (IAM, Secrets Manager, VPC),



and monitoring for production services
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Frontend Developers, and Domain SMEs in pod-based delivery teams

Requirements

- 5+ years backend development experience with Python (FastAPI, Django, or Flask)
- AWS Services: Lambda, ECS/Fargate, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, Step Functions
- Containerization: Docker, ECS orchestration
- RESTful API and microservices architecture design
- AI/LLM integration: experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude/Bedrock) into backend services
- CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CodePipeline
- Security best practices: IAM, Secrets Manager, VPC configuration
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or CDK

Nice to Have

- Prior experience migrating applications between cloud platforms
- Pharmaceutical or life sciences domain experience (GxP awareness)
- Familiarity with RAG pipelines, SageMaker endpoints
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate)
