Role Overview The Assistant General Manager – Manufacturing Strategy will be a key strategic and execution partner to the Group President, responsible for driving manufacturing excellence and strategic execution across Blue Star’s manufacturing plants.

The role will work closely with Plant Heads, functional leaders and senior management to translate business and manufacturing strategy into measurable, time-bound outcomes. The incumbent will drive performance governance, operational excellence, strategic initiatives, cross-plant transformation and execution discipline.

This is a high-visibility role requiring an individual who combines strong manufacturing understanding with strategic thinking, analytical capability, structured problem-solving and exceptional execution skills. The role will require the ability to work with senior plant leadership, challenge existing practices, identify improvement opportunities and drive accountability for results.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing

Strategy &

- Strategic Deployment

- Translate the organisation’s manufacturing strategy and business priorities into clear execution plans across plants.

- Drive deployment of strategic manufacturing initiatives in partnership with Plant Heads and functional leaders.

- Establish clear objectives, milestones, ownership and success measures for key strategic initiatives.

- Monitor progress and ensure timely execution of strategic priorities across plants.

- Identify inter-plant opportunities for standardisation, benchmarking and replication of best practices.

- Build a culture of execution excellence, accountability, speed and continuous improvement.

2.

Manufacturing

Performance &

- Governance

- Establish and drive a robust manufacturing performance governance framework across plants.

- Develop and analyse dashboards covering key metrics such as:

o Productivity and capacity utilisation o Manufacturing cost and cost productivity o Quality and rejection o Delivery and schedule adherence o Inventory and working capital o OEE and operational efficiency o Safety and compliance





- Conduct periodic performance reviews with Plant Heads and senior leadership.

- Identify performance gaps, emerging risks, bottlenecks and opportunities through data-driven analysis.

- Drive structured corrective and preventive action plans and track closure to ensure sustainable results.

- Highlight critical deviations and execution risks to the Group President with clear recommendations.

Plant

Reviews, Audits &

- Execution Excellence

- Conduct regular visits to manufacturing plants to assess execution, operational discipline and implementation of strategic initiatives.

- Validate the translation of strategic plans into shop-floor execution.

- Review planned versus actual performance and identify the root causes of gaps.

- Assess adherence to operating processes, systems, standards and improvement initiatives.

- Partner with Plant Heads to resolve execution barriers and accelerate improvement initiatives.

- Identify successful practices at individual plants and facilitate their replication across the manufacturing network.

Operational

Excellence &

- Transformation

- Lead or facilitate cross-plant initiatives focused on productivity improvement, cost optimisation, quality enhancement, capacity improvement and operational excellence.

- Drive structured problem-solving using data and appropriate continuous improvement methodologies.

- Identify opportunities for process simplification, automation, digitisation and technology adoption.

- Support plants in developing and implementing sustainable improvement roadmaps.

- Track benefits realised from transformation initiatives and ensure improvements are sustained.

5.

Strategic

Projects &

- Group President’s Office

- Partner with the Group President on strategic manufacturing priorities and high-impact initiatives.

- Lead special projects and cross-functional transformation programs assigned by the Group President.

- Prepare executive-level presentations, business reviews, dashboards and strategic insights for senior leadership.

- Conduct structured analysis of business and operational issues and develop actionable recommendations.

- Coordinate with multiple functions and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives.





- Independently drive projects from problem definition through implementation and measurable outcome.

6. Leadership, Stakeholder Management &
- Influence

- Build strong working relationships with Plant Heads, Business Leaders and functional leadership teams.

- Influence senior stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority.

- Challenge the status quo constructively and drive greater operational rigor and accountability.

- Facilitate alignment across plants and functions on common manufacturing priorities.

- Build credibility through strong manufacturing domain knowledge, analytical capability and demonstrated execution.

- Act as a catalyst for a performance-driven and continuous-improvement culture across the manufacturing organisation.

Key Success Measures

Success in this role will be measured through:

- Timely and effective execution of strategic manufacturing initiatives.

- Improvement in plant productivity, efficiency and cost performance.

- Closure of critical performance gaps and corrective actions.

- Successful implementation and replication of best practices across plants.

- Improvement in operational governance and performance visibility.

- Delivery of measurable business benefits from strategic and transformation projects.
