Role Description The Assistant role at Dmart is a full-time, on-site position based in the Pune Division. The Assistant supports daily store operations, including stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards across departments. This role involves assisting customers with product inquiries, guiding them to appropriate sections, and ensuring a positive in-store experience.
The Assistant may help with billing support, basic inventory checks, price tagging, and coordination with the store team to prepare for promotions and peak shopping hours.
The position requires flexibility across various product categories and close collaboration with supervisors and colleagues to meet store performance and service goals.
Qualifications
- Customer service and communication skills to assist shoppers, answer questions, and handle basic concerns professionally.
- Basic organizational and time management skills to manage stocking, display upkeep, and daily operational tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail and numerical ability for price tagging, checking labels, and supporting billing or cash counter operations.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, move merchandise, and work across different store sections as needed.
- Ability to follow instructions, work in a team environment, and adapt to rotating shifts, weekends, and holiday schedules.
- Prior retail or supermarket experience is an advantage but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Minimum educational qualification: high school diploma or equivalent; higher education in commerce or retail management is a plus.
