Inspire Institute of Sport is looking for an intern to join their data team in Vijayanagar, Bellary.

Role Overview

n

The Data team at IIS builds the systems and processes that support performance data across the institute, from athlete onboarding to day-to-day data collection and reporting. This internship offers hands-on exposure to how data, technology, and sport intersect at a high-performance residential institute, working closely with the Data team and sports science staff across disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

n

1. Teamworks Platform Support

n

n
- Assist the Data team with everyday tasks on IIS's athlete management platform (Teamworks), including supporting athlete onboarding and related processes
n
- Help maintain accurate and up-to-date athlete records on the platform
n

n

2. Performance Data Collection & Coordination

n

n
- Assist in collecting and organizing performance data across sports
n
- Support and collaborate with sports teams to ensure consistent and timely use of Teamworks for data recording
n

n

3. Documentation & Process Support

n

n
- Help build clear guides and reference material for internal processes and platform use
n
- Support the Data team in maintaining organized, well-documented records
n

n

4. Data Cleaning & Analysis

n

n
- Assist in cleaning and organizing raw data for accuracy and consistency
n




- Support basic data analysis to identify trends and patterns in performance data
n

n

Qualifications & Experience

n

Essential

n

n
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field
n
- Prior internship or project experience in a data/analytics context preferred
n
- Strong working proficiency in Microsoft Excel
n
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with structured processes
n

n

Desirable

n

n
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or other data manipulation tools
n
- Interest in sport, athlete performance, or high-performance environments
n

n

Working Conditions

- Base: Vijayanagar, Karnataka (on-campus)
n
- Full-time, in-person internship for the 4-month duration (preferably starting in September 2026)
