Most internships give you a defined role, a manager, and work that has already been figured out by someone else. This is not that. You are joining an early-stage project of a fintech startup at the point where almost nothing exists yet. No playbook, no process, no team to fall back on. Things will be unclear. Priorities will change mid-week. You will be handed problems nobody has solved before, and you will be expected to come back with an answer rather than a question. If that sounds exhausting, this is not for you. If it sounds like the most interesting six months you could spend, keep reading. ⸻ What the job actually is You work on whatever the founder is working on. Research — market sizing, competitor teardowns, regulatory reading, background on a company or a person before a meeting. You form a view; you don't just collect links. Partnership outreach — building target lists, writing the first email, preparing materials, and following up until there is an answer. Not one follow-up. Until there is an answer. Hiring — writing JDs, sourcing, screening, taking first-round interviews,
running the process end to end. You will be interviewing people older than you. You will be expected to be positive at it. Product — reviewing flows, writing copy, testing releases, finding what is broken before a customer does. Meetings — brief before, notes during, actions after, and chasing every action until it is closed. Decks and documents — investor and partner material, one-pagers, process notes. Written well enough that they go out without being rewritten. Coordination — across design, tech, operations, vendors. Much of the job is simply making sure nothing gets dropped, because at this stage things get dropped constantly. Everything else — genuinely half the role. If something needs doing and nobody owns it, it is yours now. ⸻ What we are actually looking for Not a CV. These: You move fast. A day is a long time at this stage. Things that can be done today do not get done tomorrow
