Position: NPD Manager
Experience: 8–12 Years
Qualification: BE / B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Metallurgy preferred

Industry: Manufacturing / Automotive / Engineering

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage New Product Development (NPD) projects from concept to successful production launch.
Understand customer requirements, specifications, drawings, and technical standards.
Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Purchase, Tool Room, Maintenance, and Suppliers for product development.
Prepare and monitor APQP, project timelines, development plans, and milestones.
Develop and review BOM, process flow, control plans, PFMEA, work instructions, and other NPD documentation.
Coordinate prototype development, trials, testing, validation, and product approval.
Manage PPAP documentation and submission as per customer requirements.
Conduct design and process feasibility studies and identify potential risks during development.
Monitor trial production and resolve quality, process, tooling, and manufacturing issues.
Coordinate with customers for technical discussions, development status, samples, approvals, and modifications.
Drive design/process improvements,



cost reduction, and cycle-time optimization.
Coordinate with suppliers for development of raw materials, components, tools, dies, and fixtures.
Ensure timely completion of NPD projects within quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Conduct project review meetings and provide regular NPD status reports to management.
Ensure proper transfer of successfully developed products from NPD to regular production.

Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of NPD / APQP / PPAP processes.
Good understanding of PFMEA, Control Plan, Process Flow, MSA, SPC, and 7 QC Tools.
Robust knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production methods.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
Positive customer and supplier coordination skills.
Strong leadership, team-management, and decision-making abilities.
Valuable knowledge of MS Excel, ERP/MIS, and NPD documentation.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
